Hi, I'm Megan

"I'm a Hawai'i based wedding and portrait photographer. My work is most inspired by nature, bright bold colors, beautiful textures and genuine moments. My artistic style is a balance between documenting candid moments and creating romantic portraiture, with an emphasis on natural light and clean lines.  My creativity thrives in unexpected and non-traditional settings."

My interest in photography began in college as a hobby.  Then at some point in 2010 I realized that it was going to be my lifelong career.  So, in typical Megan fashion, I knew I needed to learn all I could about photography. So, I uprooted my Kaua'i roots and moved to San Francisco.  I spent 3 intense years earning my MFA (Masters of Fine Arts) Degree in Photography.  Learning about the history of photography, it's impact on the arts, it's technical aspects like proper post processing, high end retouching.

Photography is important to me and I have dedicated a chunk of my life learning it...though I am humbled everyday as I learn more about my craft, my strengths and weaknesses and the improvements I can make.

Weddings are a joyful day and I strongly believe that your photos should reflect this happiness.  No moodiness here! Just moments of pure joy.

I approach each wedding with one all encompassing goal.  I want your wedding photos to be accurate to your story, your style and your moments.  No two weddings are alike and my work is an honest reflection of YOUR day.  Whether it's an intimate elopement or a large gathering, a minimalist or grand style, your photographs will be uniquely you.

Having been born and raised on Kauai, a UH Manoa alumni, and currently a Maui resident, I ONLY work in the beautiful state of Hawai'i and I never want to work abroad. Can you blame me?

Thank you for reading this and learning more about me.  Now I want to learn about you and your love story.

Aloha,

Megan
